It’s been a long winter, and though it was no where near as brutal as the kind in New England, we’re all ready for a change. For a few weeks it seemed to be warming up and even this week I was able to leave the office without my jacket on, but the last couple of days have been chilly again. In fact, I made the mistake of wearing too many layers earlier in the week and not enough by the end. Either way, we’re just a few days away from the official start of spring, and a change of pace is exactly what the doctor ordered.
This past week was one of the most difficult ones I’ve had to deal with in a long time, both with work and my mom’s pending surgery. Luckily, things went well in the end with both issues, and now I can enjoy the weekend. It’s not exactly a warm day, and a bit chilly if anything, but I’m heading up to walk around the parks in Palermo and try to clear my head, think fresh and look towards a new start. Buenos Aires in the spring is a lovely place and time. It almost reminds me of UMass in the spring, when people could finally come out of hibernation and sun themselves. Lawns turned into beaches, barbecues and whiffle ball matches took place daily, and the general feeling was of happiness. So enjoy you’re autumn, followed by winter, Northern Hemisphere!
